Smart Board Activities

In this module we were able to investigate the application of SMART Notebook. This works with the interactive SMART boards that can be seen in many classrooms across the city. Our task was to create a small lesson that is applicable to our age demographic that relates to our studies. Our lesson had to be at least 1 minute in length, but not to exceed 4 minutes. For my video I choose to use a pre installed lesson on the SMART software called Bubble Ball Math. I added a little bit to the lesson to create it more to my needs, but the base idea can be contributed to the smart notebook creators. As educators our instructors for this class encouraged us to use other educational resources as long as we give the proper credit to the original owner.
For my lesson I have catered the math problem towards division 1 elementary students. Bubble Gum Math is a great way to get many different students interacting with the lesson, while keeping the students interested in the content. A little better then doing mad minutes. I really enjoyed making this video and lesson for this module and would highly recommend another educator to use the SMART notebook 15.2 software if they are interested in doing an interactive lesson. The software has a great tutorial and is easy to navigate, plus gives you many great lessons to use as well to get a new educator started (like myself)!
